Senior Mechanical Engineer
Macclesfield
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance
If you want to see projects being built, then perhaps an M&E Contractor is the best place for you to be working. You will be in an environment where everything that comes across your desk is under construction, spades have been in the ground and the building is starting to take some sort of shape. Your job as the Senior Mechanical Engineer is to make sure that the Mechanical Designs are ready for construction phases, collaborating with the Electrical team to ensure that the M&E can be installed correctly, on time and on budget.
Not all of the design work is outsourced to Consultancies or other Design partners. The appetite here is that more and more of the 'As-Built- Constrution drawings will be, over time, completed in house. For now, though there is a mixture of outsourced work and Design work completed in house. You will need Project Manage on all projects including those that you design through Stage 5, but Projects that will require you particularly to PM are those that are utilising external partners to make sure they are on track.
What we are looking for is:
- An established Mechanical Design Engineer who can lead and run projects.
- A background in a Contractor or a Consultancy
- An Engineer who has done Detailed Design work at RIBA Stage 4 as a minimum
- Stage 5 works would be beneficial
- Technical knowledge of all aspects of Mechanical Building Services including HVAC.
- Chartership not essential
- Able to sit in DTM's and be the main point of contact Mechanically
- Client facing experience
- Experience of working on Education, Commercial, Residential or Industrial projects
The job can be based in Macclesfield or Stoke and there is an opportunity here for you to work in a hybrid way which includes a couple of days a week available for working from home and a flexible approach to the working day where needed.
