Civil Design Engineer (Drainage)
£35,000 - £42,000 plus benefits
Birmingham (temporarily remote)
A North-West based Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy are on the lookout to recruit a Civil Design Engineer with 3+ years' experience working on residential and commercial developments to join their budding new team in Birmingham.
The company have a solid reputation in the North West and have decided expand to the Midlands to service their existing and new client base.
The right candidate will be joining an existing team of 9 engineers in the Midlands across Civil, Structural and Geo disciplines and will actually be working remotely from home until Q1 of 2025 until the company secure some new office space.
Requirements of a Civil Design Engineer:- At least 3+ years' consultancy experience as a Civil Design Engineer
- The ability to manage projects with some input from team leader
- Experience as a Drainage engineer - ideally Causeway Flow literate but MicroDrainage will also suffice
- The ability to use PDS/Civil 3D is beneficial
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience with drainage strategies and FRAs.
- ICE Chartered (preferable, not essential).
Responsibilities of a Civil Design Engineer:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for residential and commercial projects.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project feasibility and monitor progress.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
- Utilize engineering software and tools effectively to optimize design processes.
The package for this role is £35,000 - £42,000 plus benefits (depending on specific experience and seniority).
