- Description
We are currently working with a friendly and professional structural engineering consultancy based in Reigate as they look to add a Senior Structural Engineer to their team. You must have a full UK driving licence for this role.
In this position, you will take a lead role on the structural design on a range of projects. Your workload will vary between small domestic alterations to large commercial newbuild and refurbishments.
This role will suit someone with great report writing skills as the consultancy is well known for carrying out feasibility and structural assessment reports for commercial and domestic clients looking to redevelop or modernise existing properties, as well as providing reports on identified structural issues.
They also support Property Managers, Building Surveyors and Homeowners where structural reports or advice is required to address highlighted areas of concern.
Furthermore, they also provide structural surveys within the residential property market to support house purchase and sales.
The broader remit of this position will encompass supporting the directors, assisting in the day-to-day management of engineers and technicians, as well as liasing with clients, architects and external design team members to ensure efficient and integrated structural solutions are achieved. Furthermore, you will carrry out structural surveys, feasibility studies and site inspections.
This role will suit someone who is autonomous and able to take an independent lead. Experience working on a large volume of projects both big and small is essential, so this will likely suit someone from a similar team dynamic. You do not necessarily need to be an incumbent senior engineer but rather someone who matches these characteristics. Chartership, whilst desirable, is not essential here.
Commercial awareness will be paramount in order to deliver high quality, detailed and creative designs, which demonstrate a capacity to think outside the box. You will be able to evidence your experience of working to British Standards and Eurocodes.
Company benefits include flexible working, a nine day fortnight, a family friendly environment, genuine career progression towards Associate level, generous holiday entitlement, time off at Christmas, as well as bonuses and on-going CPD activity.
This is a unique opportunity that is not to be missed. If you think your experience matches up well, please click apply or reach out to Jamie Will at Calibre Search.
