Description

A UK wide multi-disciplinary are looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer in their Edinburgh office to join an established team working on a mix of Rail, Highway & Footbridges.

You will be working on schemes across Scotland & England with clients such as Network Rail, Transport Scotland and major contractors. You will be involved in the detailed design, inspection & assessment of bridges.

This role will offer you a leading position on your own schemes, you'll be given the support and guidance by the Principal Engineer and Structures Lead and be given the opportunity to develop your skillset in the pursuit of chartership.

Senior Bridge Engineer Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead design and analysis for Bridge Structures.
  • Development of conceptual designs and producing engineering designs, drawings and reports in accordance with project requirements and ensuring technical compliance.
  • Manage project teams, ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget
  • Represent the company in industry events and technical publications.
  • Attend meetings representing the team as well as representing the company in industry events and technical publications.
  • Manage small design team of Technicians, Graduates and Engineers.

Person Specification

  • Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural
  • Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
  • Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE, or Proven track record acting as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE)
  • A full clean driving license would be an advantage Sentinel Track Safety - PTS holder
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant discipline with a successful track record of leading and delivering high-profile projects.
  • Familiar with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation) software
  • Capable in the use of bridge design software including FEA packages
