Job Title: Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £50-65k
A brand-new opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join a thriving team has opened up in Newcastle. This role offers a chance to lead and manage projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development within a growing geotechnical and environmental team.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee geotechnical and environmental projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, residential, and commercial.
- Undertake and review ground investigations, risk assessments, and interpretative reporting.
- Provide technical expertise in areas such as slope stability, foundation design, retaining structures, and ground improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused and cost-effective solutions.
- Engage in business development and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements:
- Degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Civil Engineering (MSc in Geotechnics or Engineering Geology beneficial).
- Chartered or near-chartered status.
- Proficiency in industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLAXIS, RocScience, Oasys).
- Strong project management and technical skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
