Due to increased project demand, particularly in regulated and complex environments, this team is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to support their growing portfolio across rail, power, highways, defence, aviation, public sector, and life sciences projects. About the Role:
As a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist, you'll work closely with structural and civil engineering teams, providing geotechnical expertise and delivering design packages. Your responsibilities will include:- Producing geotechnical design and specification packages for various civil and structural engineering projects.
- Writing and reviewing desk studies, risk assessments, and geotechnical design reports.
- Managing and delivering designs for foundations, slopes, retaining walls, piling, and earthworks.
- Reviewing subcontractor reports to ensure technical compliance with design requirements.
- Contributing to projects from concept through to completion across a range of sectors.
- Supporting and guiding junior team members while representing the company in client meetings.
About You:
To excel in this role, you should have:- A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (or equivalent), ideally with a relevant MSc.
- Progress toward chartered status (e.g., ICE, GeolSoc, IMMM) or a desire to achieve it.
- Experience in a consultancy environment, including geotechnical design and reporting.
- Familiarity with Eurocode 7, design standards, and current health and safety regulations.
- A full UK driving licence.
