- Description
We are currently partnered with an engineering consultancy based in East Sussex and Northern Ireland, as they look to add a Lead Structural Engineer to their division on Brighton Seafront.
This role is effectively an office lead position, so the opportunities are truly limitless and will suit someone who is ambitious, technically excellent, and also commercially minded. You will be joining an office that has three talented structural engineers who have come through excellent universities including Exeter and Cardiff.
Your role will involve mentoring these team members as they continue their professional journey, whilst also taking a commercial focus, including bids and developing new business. You will have enormous influence over the office's future direction, including areas of new business to explore.
This consultancy works across a variety of projects spanning high-end bespoke private residential, education, historical buildings, to name but a few.
Ideally, you will be near-chartered or chartered with either the ICE or IStructE.
The successful candidate will:
- Be skilled in producing practical and cost-effective structural designs in timber, concrete, masonry and steel
- Demonstrate experience of managing and mentoring less experienced colleagues
- Be skilled in delivering projects on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Be competent in the use of AutoCAD and Tekla or Masterseries. Revit skills are an advantage.
- Have a minimum of 10 years design experience with a consulting structural engineering practice in the UK or Ireland.
- Be an excellent communicator - both in writing and face-to-face.
Company benefits include 23 days holiday increasing with service, the option to take a six week sabbatical every three years (on full salary and in addition to standard annual allocation of leave), genuine flexibility and hybrid working, and much more.
