We are working with a highly respected transport planning consultancy in Central London, who are looking for a Principal Transport Planner to join their expanding team. This is an excellent chance to work on a range of exciting projects, from large-scale developments to high-profile local authority schemes, including the iconic Battersea Power Station.
About the Role:
As a Principal Transport Planner, you will take the lead in project management, working closely with senior staff and supporting the delivery of high-quality transport planning services. You will be instrumental in developing and delivering multi-modal access strategies, transport assessments, and other key planning documents for a variety of clients.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading the day-to-day management of projects, working closely with the Project Director.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members to ensure their professional growth and the successful delivery of projects.
- Developing concept studies and feasibility assessments for large masterplan sites.
- Engaging in client meetings and consultations with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with planning and transport requirements.
- Contributing to business development efforts through bid preparation and fee quotes.
What We're Looking For:
To be considered for this exciting role, you should have:- At least 7 years' experience in transport planning.
- Strong knowledge of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Statements.
- Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD and Autodesk design software (AutoTrack desirable).
- Experience in Junction Modelling (e.g., PICADY, ARCADY, LinSIG).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and your team.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work within deadlines.
