- Description
This Controls Engineer position could easily be two roles; one for someone who has gained at least a years work experience within a related area of electrical engineering and another for someone with a HNC or ideally a degree.
In both cases you will be joining a company that specialises in the creation of highly energy efficient buildings that are within agriculture, research and by people with a particular interest in horticulture.
You will be trained in all aspects of working to the brief, producing a design, being part of the installation team and then on to commissioning. What makes this position particularly interesting is that you will remain involved with the projects beyond the commissioning as the company looks after servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs on an ongoing basis.
This will give you a unique insight in to the life of the systems that you work with and you will have an enviable knowledge of not just the controls, but the buildings as a whole.
You will need to have either a degree or to have completed an apprenticeship with recognised electrical/electronics/controls course while in either case must be happy to work on the tools and progress into the design office.
You will also need to have work experience within controls be it on the design, installation, commissioning or maintenance side of controls work.
The great thing about this post is that
Both positions will be eligible to join the companies on call rota that will see you receive an on call allowance in return for being available for the week to assist clients with out of hours difficulties, the majority of which can be resolved on the phone or by dialling in to the system.
The package with the role includes:
- 25 days leave plus stats
- Full training and support to help you develop in the role
- Pension
- Company vehicle/allowance (once you have joined the on call rota)
You will need to be located in the immediate Yorkshire area or within an easy commute of it. Similarly, a driving license is essential.
The salary range for the post is up to £42k depending upon your level of qualifications and experience.
