Job Title: Electrician - MOD
Location: Scotland Central Belt
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, plus company van, overtime, pension etc
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
The Role
Are you an experienced Electrician with a passion for ensuring safety and compliance in a critical environment? Join the team, supporting the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with electrical maintenance in a secure, forces-based setting.
As part of this vital work, you will help maintain electrical systems that ensure the safety and efficiency of all camp facilities. This is a mobile role so a driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance to ensure systems are fully operational.
- Diagnose and replace failed electrical components.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and complete repairs in compliance with safety regulations.
- Actively engage in fault-finding and problem-solving across electrical systems.
- Install electrical systems in accordance with the provided design and IET Wiring Regulations.
- Monitor and order critical spares to ensure system continuity.
- Support local and business zero carbon initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards across all work activities.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a secure environment, helping maintain essential infrastructure for the Ministry of Defence. Security Clearance, including a Counter Terrorism Check, will be required (the company will assist you through this process).
What You'll Bring to the Role- Technical qualification such as City & Guilds 2365 (Parts 1-3), NVQ Level 3, BTEC or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) - If you hold the 17th Edition, we will sponsor your upgrade to the 18th Edition.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, including general distribution, installation, and testing.
- Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative to resolve issues.
- Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces. For the right candidate a fantastic salary / benefits package is on offer consisting of the following:
