I am working with an Associate Director to build a brand new Transport Planning team in an award winning, international multi-disciplinary. They now require a Principal Transport Planner to join the team in City Centre Manchester.
You will be working on a mixture of public realm master planning & urban design and private development planning projects. As a Principal Transport Planner, you will be required to take the lead on project delivery, modelling and report writing.
You will be working alongside the other teams including Architects, Civil/Structural Engineers and urban design team in order to deliver some of the most iconic projects across the UK. Recent project examples include the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Royal Albert Halls and Covent Garden Market.
Principal Transport Planner Responsibilities- Undertaking and development of Site Access Appraisals
- Undertaking of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Design and Access Statements, Transport input into Environmental Assessments and Travel Plans
- Development of concept designs for highways schemes for access and junction improvements
- Development and mentoring of junior team members
- Development of client relationships
- Producing fee proposals
- Assisting associates in seeking out and securing new opportunities
- Resourcing and financial monitoring and reporting
- Developing good relationships with professions across BDP.
Principal Transport Planner Requirements
- You will have proven experience working in a Transport Planning consultancy and be comfortable presenting ideas and project work to Clients
- You will have relevant, and extensive post graduate experience and good knowledge of transport planning policy, principles and standards. Particularly those required for development planning, travel planning and active travel
- You will ideally have or be working towards becoming a Chartered Transport Planning Professional/Chartered Engineer certified by the Engineering Council
- You will have strong practical knowledge of Linsig, Junctions 9 and preferably experience of using TRACC/similar
- You will have a strong understanding of relevant local and national policy and guidance.
