- Description
We are currently partnered with one of London's leading facade engineering consultancies as they look to add a Senior Facade Engineer to their team.
The company has five full time Directors, eight AD/Associates, and a number of other experienced staff, including access to specialist sub-consultants, who have all worked together for 15 to 20 years.
Across most projects they are asked to offer a comprehensive 'full service'. This includes front-end design at scheme and concept stage, through detailed design and tender documentation, culminating in sub-contractor submission review, factory visits, witnessing of testing and site visits.
Stone, concrete, brick, terracotta, metals and glass are all materials that they offer specialist expertise in. They currently have three of the foremost stone consultants in the country, with excellent knowledge and connections, whilst their concrete specialist has also been integral in the development of some of the highest profile and award-winning concrete architecture in recent years. They also work closely with a sub-consultant metallurgist, who they have known for over 20 years. Structural Engineering, Building Physics analysis and 3d modelling are all integral to the scope of service they offer.
As a Senior Facade Engineer you will possess:
- Five years of experience working for a Façade Consultant in the UK market. Some experience working for a Façade Contractor may be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of pre-contract project stages with good design skills. Some experience of structural design and building envelope physics may be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience and interest in delivering the post-contract stages of a project, with experience in reviewing contractor design details, site inspections, factory inspections, witnessing testing etc.
- Interest in sustainability/embodied carbon and retrofitting existing buildings would be of benefit.
- Ability to lead projects in pre-contract and post-contract stages.
- Ability to look after and mentor junior members of staff.
Company benefits include employee ownership and tax-free bonuses, performance bonuses, hybrid working, 26 days of annual leave increasing with service, Vitality health insurance, as well as shared parental leave.
