Senior Civil Engineer
Bristol
Our Client are Engineering Consultants and Chartered Building Surveyors with five offices across the UK. Their core services include Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Pre-planning, Building Surveying, Insurance Surveying, Project Management & Expert Witness. Their team includes Chartered Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineers and Chartered Building Surveyors that provide professional services across the UK. Due to another increase in workload their Bristol office is looking to add an experienced Civil Engineer to join the team.
This is a client facing role delivering a range of projects (residential, education, community and health, heritage, university and colleges) and procurement methods; traditional, design and construct contracts. You will resource allocation and management to complete jobs to agreed deadlines and also be responsible for the management and mentoring of staff. Other main duties & responsibilities for this role include managing, designing, developing and creating and maintaining small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner. You will assess the impact and feasibility of site due diligence, preliminary layout and up to the final engineering design. You will be expected to study and assess drawings, plans, specifications and other documents relating to construction projects and then determine budget, project schedules and scope of work and deploy appropriate staff.
As a Degree qualified Civil Engineer with a minimum of five years post graduate experience within a UK Consultancy, you will have extensive experience with FRA's, S278/S38 highway design and private and adoptable drainage design. You will be computer literate with a good understanding of appropriate software packages including CAD, PDS or Civil3D and MicroDrainage / FLOW and have experience of earthworks and external level designs including 3D analysis.
As a you will be expected to manage and mentor more junior staff members, a knowledge of the planning, specification, design, procurement and commissioning of projects is required. You will possess sound knowledge of current legislation and able to work in accordance with QA and H&S procedures, have experience in team and line management and demonstrate a level of decision making and ability to prioritise and manage conflicting internal and external demands.
