Description


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Smoke Vent Engineer to join one of the country's leading HVAC contractors working around London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the service team to ensure systems are maintained according to the schedule.
  • Supervise the installation of smoke vents, working with contractors to ensure precise execution of design specifications.
  • The role requires working Monday to Friday during standard business hours, which may include early starts to reach certain sites. Occasional overnight stays may also be needed.


Inspection and Testing:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of existing smoke vent systems.
  • Perform functional tests to ensure proper operation of smoke vents under both normal and emergency conditions.
  • Document and report findings, recommending necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacements.


Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Develop and implement routine maintenance programs for smoke vent systems to prevent malfunctions.
  • Respond promptly to service requests for repairs or replacements.
  • Work with maintenance teams to integrate smoke vent inspections into preventive maintenance schedules.


Code Compliance:

  • Stay up to date with national fire safety codes and regulations related to smoke ventilation.
  • Ensure that all smoke vent systems comply with relevant standards.
  • Provide guidance to clients and colleagues on compliance issues related to smoke vent engineering.


Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Ventilation Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations, particularly those related to smoke ventilation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Certifications in smoke vent systems design and maintenance are highly desirable.
  • Experience in fault finding and knowledge of electrical circuits within control panels.
  • Experience working at height.
  • Full driving license (maximum 6 points).

Package / Salary:

  • £32,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
  • Company vehicle
