Description

Calibre Search is pleased to partner with a dynamic and growing consultancy that is looking to hire an ambitious Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Birmingham.

This unique role offers a refreshing departure from traditional consultancy models, providing a fresh approach to the industry. The firm offers a collaborative environment where the more business you generate, the greater the rewards-an attractive commission-based structure that allows you to earn a larger share of the fees you bring in.

Key Highlights:

  • Flexible working arrangements tailored to maximise work/life balance and performance.
  • A transparent pay and bonus structure, rewarding both individual and team success.
  • Opportunity to cross-sell Quantity Surveying services across the Midlands and South West, supporting growth alongside an established Director QS based in the North.
  • A supportive team of building surveyors and project managers with strong leadership, driving each other to deliver exceptional service.

Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking an experienced MRICS Quantity Surveyor, with several years of delivering high-value property projects (JCT or NEC contracts preferred) from inception through to completion, within a client-side or consultancy background. Strong experience in Employers Agent work is essential.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Lead and chair meetings, demonstrating strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills when required.
  • Oversee pre- and post-contract services, ensuring cost control, valuation processes, and reporting are handled effectively.
  • Manage cost checks, conduct valuations, negotiate final accounts, and implement change control processes.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • MRICS qualified or working towards APC.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a client-facing role.
  • Exceptional planning, organisation, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams, resolve complex issues, and make informed decisions.
